The Giants Causeway and Bushmills Railway leaves from just outside Bushmills Village on its 20 minute journey of 2 miles to and from the Giants Causeway, along the track bed of what used to be the Giants Causeway Tram. The diesel locomotive runs 4 times a day between 11am and 2.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Children, in particular, love being on the train.

Giants Causeway and Bushmills Railway MapThe diesel train provides a heritage mode of transportation between the quaint town of Bushmills and the much loved Giant's Causeway.
This 2 mile train journey offer great views as it slowly makes its way over the natural terrain, it is a quaint and different way to arrive at the Giant's Causeway.
The 3 diesel powered tramway type carriages run along the same route as the original Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Hydro Electric Tram track, which was operated by the Giant's Causeway, Portrush and Bush Valley Railway & Tramway Company Ltd.
In 1883, the original tramway was the first long electric tramway in the world!. It ran for over 65 years until 1949.
Facilities
You can park your car at the Bushmills platform and board the train to the Giant's Causeway.
Check the timetable and be sure to be at the station 10 minutes early.The Station serves refreshments and has a picnic area.
Of late is has been a little neglected. The grass and hedges en route look a little overgrown and the Station could use a revamp, but is still worth the experience.

When you arrive at the Giant's Causeway you can get a discounted entrance fee, using your train ticket, via the Visitors Centre.
